Company & bank account fully online

Emirates NBD has launched remote business account opening for non-residents of the UAE β€” in partnership with IFZA Free Zone. For European entrepreneurs, this means: you can register a company and open a bank account without leaving your country.

Octopus Prime is a certified IFZA partner and a specialist in UAE banking coordination. We manage the entire process: from company registration to account activation.

Why it matters

Until now β€” it was not possible

For a long time, opening a corporate bank account in the UAE as a non-resident required either a physical visit to Dubai or an Emirates ID. This made it significantly harder for European entrepreneurs who registered a company in the UAE but did not live there to get started.

Now β€” fully remote

Emirates NBD has launched a dedicated channel for non-residents β€” individual shareholders whose company is registered in IFZA. The account is opened through a digital portal, with no Emirates ID, no local phone number, and no mandatory visit to the UAE.

Step by step

From company registration to a working account

01

Register your company in IFZA

The entire company registration process in IFZA Free Zone is handled remotely β€” through our team as a certified IFZA partner. You receive a trade license, Memorandum of Association (MOA), certificate of incorporation, and a full corporate document pack. Physical presence in the UAE is not required.

02

Prepare your banking documents

To submit the application, you will need: the IFZA corporate document pack, a copy of your passport, proof of residential address (utility bill or NOC + bill from a host), and bank statements for the last 3 months as evidence of source of funds.

03

Submit the application online to Emirates NBD

The application is submitted on the digital.emiratesnbd.com portal. Important: when filling the form, indicate that you do not need a debit card or cheque book β€” this removes the requirement for a UAE phone number and UAE address proof. After submission, the bank reviews the application within approximately 7 working days.

04

Complete signatory verification

The verification method depends on whether you have visited the UAE in the last 6–12 months. If you have β€” verification is done online via the Emirates Facial Recognition (EFR) system. If you have not β€” you will need in-person passport verification at one of the Emirates NBD international branches listed below.

05

Account activation

After verification, the account is fully activated. Note: the account can be opened to receive funds even before verification is completed β€” this is important for those who want to start operations quickly. Debit cards and cheque books can be requested after activation and couriered abroad.

Key question

Have you visited Dubai in the last year?

This determines the verification method for the signatory β€” the only step where there may be a difference between a fully online process and a single visit to an Emirates NBD international branch.

Verification β€” fully online

If you have visited the UAE in the last 6–12 months, your biometric data is already registered in the Emirates Facial Recognition (EFR) system. In this case, Emirates NBD conducts signatory verification remotely β€” the entire account opening process does not require your physical presence anywhere.

Important: a visit to the UAE for tourism, business meetings, or transit counts. The key requirement is that your passport passed through the UAE border control system.

Why this works as a single package

The IFZA + Emirates NBD combination is the UAE's first fully remote "company + account" route for non-residents. We coordinate both processes as a single project: company registration, corporate document pack preparation, banking application support, and if necessary β€” organising verification at an international branch.
